In MythBusters experiment Compact Compact, Jamie said that two trucks crashing into each other at 50 mph is equivalent to one truck hitting a wall at 100 mph : http://www.mythbusters2003.net/mp4/Season%202009/Episode%201%20-%20Demolition%20Derby%20Special.mp4.video 51:30 In another episode, they did some experiments and determined that two trucks crashing into each other at 50 mph is equivalent to one truck hitting a wall at 50 mph : http://www.mythbusters2003.net/mp4/Season%202010/Episode%207%20-%20Mythssion%20Control.mp4.video But they only looked at what happens to the trucks ! What about the compact that was between the trucks ? Since the compact does not move, I wonder what would happen to it in every test they did. I guess I could build a similar small-scale rig out of wood (as seen in Mythssion Control) and test it myself, but I don't feel like it.
