I'm talking about my mom's office. We have a potential buyer : our neighbour. He owns the big garage next to the house. He wants the house for its garage. He plans on renting the main floor. But now, we discovered that the soil under the house may have been contaminated by the garage many years ago. If they do find that the ground is contaminated, the house looses all of its value. It would take an awful lot of money to decontaminate the ground. The potential buyer agreed to sign a document with his bank that if the ground is contaminated, he's responsible for it. He seems to really want the house. Hopefully he buys it. When my parents bought the house in 2011, they were not made aware that the ground could be contaminated. If they were, they would have bought another house. We just have to get rid of that house quick before it becomes our trouble.
