With a computer, you have to choose a model to base your simulation on. Some choices : - Physical objects - Molecular - Atomic - Quantum To me, that we can experiment on models smaller (atom) or bigger (planets and stars) than us, means that we are not in a simulation. I believe this model thing is fractal and we will never stop finding models for things smaller and bigger than the current models. Computers cannot simulate models they have not been programmed to simulate. Plus, the computer would have to be much larger than the simulated world. Bigger than the universe. (For example, with an atomic simulation, the computer needs to have many, many atoms to represent a single atom, making it way bigger).
