I just received my first generation iPod touch on 1.1.5 and managed to jailbreak it with iLiberty+ ! I first uninstalled iTunes, QuickTime and "Apple Mobile Device Support" and then installed iTunes 7.7.1.11 on my Windows XP laptop. See https://theapplewiki.com/wiki/ITunes#32-bit for the download link. After some fiddling around, iTunes finally saw the iPod ! Using iLiberty+ was easy at that point. (I had some trouble getting iLiberty+ to see the iPod too). I managed to activate afc2 and install Cydia. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to install OpenSSH through Cydia. And iLiberty+ no longer includes support for installing Installer.app. I tried to put Installer.app on the device through "iPhone Explorer" over afc2, but it does not launch. (It just stays stuck on the splash screen and then closes.) I assume there is some permission error. I'm not even sure permissions cat be set over afc2... The whole point I went into this project for is that I have made an AppTapp repo with every app and theme I could find for iPhone OS 1 : http://apptapp.philippe97.ca/ I need to test it on a real device since I have gzipped the XML file and I'm not sure Installer.app will accept it as-is.
